Fast Girl with Red Hat

This is a memory of when I had pink hair for the first time. I was super angry after being lied to – I was upset and moving very fast to burn off my energy, listening to music, going for long walks, and generally not being still. This painting features a tree in the background and in the centre of the chest there is a plant growing – the contrast between movement and stillness is the key to the conflicted feelings that are causing the tension in the painting.
