First Tree & Parking Ticket

C$30.00Price
  • The first tree to change colour on the street is a special signal for the change of season. This painting shows the lawn of my parents’ house, their tree is the first to change and starts from the top to bottom, a flash like a match in its transition and fall. The parking on the street every inch of pavement is regulated; there is a car parked there and there is a ticket. The people who live there are political and observant in faith and in law but they all have their peculiarities in flexibility. An unleased dog roams the neighbourhood and rogue people knock on doors. Everyone is moving quickly, and stillness is especially avoided, thus this painting depicts frustrations; this quickness and the feeling of a flash of change, of forcing it.  This painting is capturing small pieces of information like the ticket being highlighted and the suburban feel of the setting, as well as the green leaves skirting the bottom of the tree which shows that it has changed in an orderly fashion.
