This symbol, in essence, is my unique perspective on darkness. I believe that everything that happens to a person, no matter how painful or horrible, can be overcome. I see struggle as inevitable and necessary for growth – however learning how to overcome dark times is challenging and that is why I created the moon within the spade. The moon represents hope that is always there, even though it cannot be seen; the moon does not cease to exist when there is a new moon, it is always full, but we only see it complete one day in the month. That means that all other times we must remember that it is there and continue to work through dark times with resilience.
