When in my darkest times, the lonely times when my back hurts and my arms feel heavy, and I never want to talk or feel anything at all, I get this image. It is of a woman climbing a hill – she is alone always and scared of her task. The title reach comes from the idea of accessing light by just trying to hold on to something and extending your hand. The colour surrounding this painting shows the contrast in perspective of a person who is reaching out for help, how scary that can be and how ultimately the strength to do that must come from within.
