I wore these blonde single braids, jungle style with triangle parting, for 10 days. This is a portrait of me looking out the window just after the braiding was finished. They weighed about 5 pounds, took 12 hours and 2 people to install, and were so different to me because of the drastic change. I felt like a different person wearing this style – the way I am in the portrait is hopeful, looking forward. I was feeling supported by my friends and being kind to myself, trying something different which I love doing and seeing how it effects mood and behaviour.
