This is a sweeping drama of a red sunset on Georgian bay. During my childhood we often summer-ed (as a verb) at our family vacation home, which was full of sand and freshwater beach in Ontario. At the time, I took it for granted that there would be such a beautiful place for me, as these times during my childhood hold the most beautiful sunsets. Sometimes, it would storm and the sky and water would grow dark and red, with intense waves. This painting shows the moodiness of the sky and water foreshadows the intense colour and movement about to occur.
