This work is sharp and fast in my mind as a symbol for redemption. I think of myself and my own struggle losing my ability to run due to injury, and think of how it will never be the same when I see this image. If you think about your whole life as a series of attempts, some of them would work and some would not, but you would always be able to try and make an attempt or remake what you had before even in imitation. If anything, continued attempts are better than leaving something untouched. This is why I love this image, and why I chose to paint the blade that was broken, only because it can be remade and that idea is inspiring and rings true to the core.
