This is a painting that I made on top of a life painting that I completed at OCADU while I was studying there. The woman posed for it and I studied her, unmoving and unsmiling. Years later she gets wrapped in paint and colourful glaze layers as I work on this piece, and over time the painting becomes more powerful as it ages – the colours dry and mature and the layers of woman underneath are more magnetic when they remain unseen.
